{"id":289,"date":"2017-11-08T19:00:18","date_gmt":"2017-11-09T00:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tootsbook.com\/tootsbook\/?p=289"},"modified":"2017-11-08T15:12:41","modified_gmt":"2017-11-08T20:12:41","slug":"violet-volts-incorporation-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tootsbook.com\/tootsbook\/2017\/11\/violet-volts-incorporation-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Violet Volts Incorporation News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s the brief news on the latest from the conversion of Violet Volts from an informal association\/club into a \u201cproper\u201d nonprofit corporation:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The effective date of the change will be around the New Year, probably within the first week or two of 2018.<\/li>\n<li>Our current Benevolent Dictator is paying the initial costs.\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ll need to have a certain amount of fundraising on an ongoing basis, although sales of merchandise will continue to be one source.<\/li>\n<li>There&#8217;s another idea being discussed that may wait for the first Cadre meeting in January to be decided, or may be put out for an opinion poll.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The new corporation name has been chosen, but we&#8217;re keeping it a secret for now. \u263a It&#8217;s not going to be \u201cViolet Volts,\u201d any more, though.<\/li>\n<li>Tootsville and everything related to it will be managed by the new organization (corporation).<\/li>\n<li>The official management body will be the Cadre, like a board of directors.\n<ul>\n<li>One of the four general offices in the Cadre (for now; possibly more in future) will be elected by the players each year, starting in 2020. Until then, all of the Cadre members will be appointees. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tootsbook.com\/tootsbook\/2017\/11\/foundation-nominations\/\">Nominations are open<\/a> for these Cadre appointments.
